ALPHABEDDY tells the story of
a little boy named Eddy who loves the alphabet. In fact, he loves it so
much that his Grandma Esther nicknames him ALPHABEDDY. One day the
strangest thing happens in Elkland, which is where Eddy lives with his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Evans – a
burglar steals the letter E from the Elkland National Alphabet.
Without the letter E, no one is able to write or say words which
contain that letter.
While
the people of Elkland attempt to find the thief who stole the letter E,
Eddy’s sisters Ellie and Evie enjoy the cancellation of school and the
fun of trying
to find ways to speak without the letter E. Meanwhile the burglar
demands a huge ransom for the return of the letter.
The people of Elkland don’t want to give in to this ransom, but as time
passes, everyone becomes more frustrated at being unable to talk or
write properly. Eddy is saddest of all, as he can no longer play
alphabet games with his Grandma Esther. Mr. Evans realizes that instead
of retrieving the missing E, a substitute E could
be placed in the National Alphabet. But the replacement E would have to
be a very special letter, worthy of being a part of the National
Alphabet. And no one in Elkland could find such a special letter.
But
then, Eddy saves the day, as he finds the special E that can be placed
in the National Alphabet. The people of Elkland are able to speak and
write properly, and Eddy can play alphabet games again with Grandma
Esther.
